PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAM:
At Play & Learn Center, our Preschool Program offers many things for the growing preschool child. Our program provides the children with a "Love for Learning" and all of this is provided a warm, loving, secure and very stimulating environment. The most important experience that your child can gain from our program are those experience that will help nourish your child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Our preschool class is a well-balanced and structured program that focuses on the child's imagination and their curiosity for learning, through imagination and dramatic play the preschool child will experience the creative exploration and socialization that they need with other children their age.
Our preschool curriculum has been made with the preschool child in mind, to enhance your child's learning experience. The children are encouraged to achieve to the best of their own abilities. They are provided with a structured environment that has a daily schedule- which has a different theme each week, with new colors, shape, numbers, letters and concepts to learn and they also practice their writing skills. By providing this very structured environment it keeps the children involved, busy and interested in learning experience daily.
Our Teacher are dedicated to encouraging your child to explore on their own, to make friends,communicate with others, to get involved with group activities, to help them develop social and cooperating skills such as sharing, listening, following directions and our Teachers are there to help and guide the children whenever needed.
Our classroom is set up into "Fun Learnning Centers" withhin the preschool room- giving the children extra additional structured areas:
- Computer Center - 1 computer located right in the classroom to teach and give the children the opportuniy to become familiar with today's technology.
- Block Center - the children can build with blocks and create buildings, skyscrapers, roadways etc.- once their imaginations take off the possibilities are endless.
- Science & Math Center - the children will lear counting skills and gain a love for science with fun science projects and experiments.
- Dramatic Play - Pretend play is great to build a child's imagination - dress-up clothes, shoes, pretend food, plates, cupsetc. are all provided for the children.
- Art & Crafts Center - the children will be able to express themselves and to use paint and other material to create their very own special masterpieces.
- Music Area - the children will be able to move freely- to dance, follow directions with a record, use a parachute, use musical instruments etc.
- Language & Writing Center - the children will learn how to recongnize and sound out letters, numbers, colors, shape and other concepts and will also practice writing their name and small sentences.
- Manipulative Center - this area is great for the children to feel independent and to make a choice for themselves by choosing fun learning materials located on the easy accessible shelves right at the child's level.
- Library Area - the children can sit and relaxin this area and read a good book, either by themselves, with a teacher or with that special friend.
- Circle Time Area - the children will learn about the days of the week, date, month, weather etc. (calendar time) they sing songs and discuss the weeks theme, new topics, leters, numbers, shapes, a great opportunity for the teachers and the children to interact and communicate with each other one on one.
- Sensory Table - this table is always filled with new and exciting things for the children to explore and play with- water, rice, scraps for cutting and snow are just a few fun things that we place in the sensory table. Each Learning Center mentioned above was designed for the children to learn new and exciting things and to most importantly to have fun while doing so.
